NAPOLCOM Mock Exam: What a Realistic One Looks Like, With Sample Questions
A NAPOLCOM mock exam is a timed, objective-type paper across the same four areas as the PNP Entrance Examination, sat by hand with no calculator. Its job is to find your weakest area before the real paper does. The free diagnostic on this site is 40 items in 40 minutes with a pass/fail verdict against the 70% mark; the full mock is 150 items in three hours.
NAPOLCOM Exam Practice Test: Free Questions by Area, and How to Drill
A practice test drills one area, untimed, with an explanation on every item; a mock exam sits all four under a clock. You need both. Use practice tests to fix the area a mock named as weakest, and use mocks to check that it moved. Sample items from all four areas are below, with answers.
NAPOLCOM Exam Coverage: What the PNP Entrance Exam Tests
The PNP Entrance Examination tests four areas: general information (the PNP, its laws, the Constitution and the criminal justice system), verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning. It is an objective-type paper sat in three hours with a 70% pass mark. NAPOLCOM's announcements name the areas but not an item count; reviewers report about 150 items.
NAPOLCOM Exam Passing Score: 70%, and What That Means in Items
You pass the PNP Entrance Examination with a general rating of at least 70%. There is no minimum per area, so a strong area can carry a weak one. On a 150-item paper that is 105 correct answers. Fewer than a third of examinees reached it in the April 2026 sittings, which says more about pacing than about difficulty.
How to Apply for the NAPOLCOM Exam: Online Registration to Notice of Admission
Applying is two steps, not one. First, register online through the NAPOLCOM Online Scheduling System during the five-day window, which gives you an appointment date. Second, go to your regional office on that date with your documents and ₱400 to complete the application in person. Only then is a Notice of Admission issued.
NAPOLCOM Exam Requirements: Who Can Take It and What to Bring
To sit the PNP Entrance Examination you must be a Filipino citizen with a bachelor's degree, aged 21 to 30, and meet the height standard: 1.62 m for men and 1.57 m for women under RA 8551, waivable down to 1.57 m and 1.52 m. For on-site processing you bring your online registration notice, two passport photos, a valid ID, your PSA birth certificate, your transcript or diploma, and ₱400.
NAPOLCOM Exam Schedule 2026: Dates, Registration and Results
NAPOLCOM holds the PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations twice a year. In 2026 the sittings are Sunday 19 April and Sunday 18 October. Online registration for October ran from 17 to 21 August and on-site processing from 18 August to 17 September. Results come roughly two months after each sitting.
NAPOLCOM Exam Fees: ₱400 for the Entrance Exam, and the PROMEX Ladder
The PNP Entrance Examination fee is ₱400, for civilians and for temporary patrol officers alike. The promotional examination fees are ₱400, ₱450, ₱500 and ₱600 for the 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st Class. The fee is paid at the regional office during on-site processing, not online, and it is the smallest cost of applying once documents, photos and travel are counted.
How to Pass the NAPOLCOM Exam: An Eight-Week Plan Built Around the Pass Rate
Diagnose first, then spend the review where the marks are: general information from week one (it is reading, and it pays fastest), daily arithmetic by hand, a word list, and a fixed method for each logical item type. Sit full three-hour mocks in the last three weeks. Aim for 80% by area so 70% on the day has a margin.
Is the NAPOLCOM Exam Hard? The Pass Rate Says Yes. The Content Says Why.
The content is not hard: secondary-school English and arithmetic, logic, and a fixed body of general information. The pass rate is: 29.75% in April 2026, 36.61% in October 2025. The gap is pacing over three hours with no calculator, and a general information area that most examinees never study. Both are fixable in eight weeks.
PNP Entrance Exam vs Promotional Exam: Which NAPOLCOM Exam Is Yours?
The PNP Entrance Examination (PNPE) is for people not yet in the PNP, and for patrol officers on a temporary appointment; it tests general information, verbal, quantitative and logical reasoning. The PNP Promotional Examination (PROMEX) is for serving officers going up a rank, in four classes that follow the rank sought, and it tests police administration, operational procedures, ethics and general information. Same day, same 70% pass mark, different papers.
PNP Ranks Under RA 11200: The Full List, Old Equivalents, and Which Exam Each Needs
RA 11200, signed on 8 February 2019, replaced the PNP's old rank names with a sixteen-rank ladder from Patrolman/Patrolwoman to Police General. PO1 became Patrolman, SPO4 became Police Executive Master Sergeant, Inspector became Police Lieutenant, and Director General became Police General. The general information area of the entrance exam asks about both the new names and the old ones.
When Do NAPOLCOM Exam Results Come Out? Timeline and Where to Check
NAPOLCOM releases results about two months after each sitting. The October 2025 examinations were held on 19 October and the results posted on 19 December 2025. The list of passers and the top 20 go up on napolcom.gov.ph; the Certificate of Eligibility or Report of Rating follows by mail.
After Passing the NAPOLCOM Exam: What the Eligibility Gets You, and the Steps to Patrolman
Passing confers the PNP Entrance eligibility, which is one requirement for appointment as Patrolman or Patrolwoman. Appointment itself comes through PNP recruitment: an application against a regional quota, then the physical agility test, the physical, medical and dental examination, the neuro-psychiatric examination, a drug test, a character and background investigation and a selection board. A new Patrolman then completes field training as a condition of permanency under RA 8551.
